SDC, YWC notch up dominant wins in Plate cricket

Imphal, August 02 2022:
SDC (Sagolband) and YWC (Patsoi) enjoyed dominant wins in the MNCA Plate Tournament on Tuesday.
SDC upstaged UCC (Uripok) by 88 runs in their Group A encounter at Langthabal Public Ground.
The Sagolband side put up a competitive total of 203/9 in the stipulated 40 overs with the help of Thounaojam Rakesh (46), Priyojit Narengbam (38), Rajkumar Robindro (19 not out), Md Ataur Rahaman (17) Kshetrimayum Robert (17) and Salam Pinky (13) .
For UCC, Konsam Gulson bagged 3 wickets as Shyam Kumar Ray and Thokchom Yoihenba scalped 2 wickets apiece, with Roshan Das and Arnold Leishangthem accounting for one each.
In reply, UCC surrendered at 115 all out in 36.3 overs.
The Uripok side's chase saw Konsam Gulson score a decent 34 while Moirangthem Satish, Durgesh Sharma and Thangjam Cherry were all dismissed for 10 .
Man of the match, Mutum Jodiba made his mark in the CDC bowling attack with a five-wicket haul.
Khurshid Alam also impressed with 3 scalps while Asif and Kshetrimayum Robert took 1 wicket each.
The day's Group B match saw Laikhuram Jagat shine with both bat and ball as YWC (Patsoi) beat RRCC (Churachandpur) by 55 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Laikhuram Jagat (76) topscored for YWC, who posted 174/9 after electing to bat first.
Thoungamba M (24), Nickel Loukrakpam (16) and Ashishkumar Wakongthem (13) were other contributors in the innings.
The Patsoi team then took 29.4 overs to bundle out their Churachandpur opponents for 117 as Haojalen Kipgen (43), Lalboi Vaiphei (15) and Rahul Kumar (12) scored in double digits for the latter.
Laikhuram Jagat was the chief destroyer for WYC by racking up 5 wickets.
Ashishkumar Wakongthem did his part with 3 wickets and Sagolsem Mangalsana Meitei and Loukrakpam Sumanta got 1 wicket each in their side's convincing victory.
Earlier, Sahil Kumar, Haojalen Kipgen and Pankaj Hazarika snapped 2 wickets each while Thangkhopao and Ningthoujam Shyamsunder took 1 each for RRCC.
Laikhuram Jagat was adjudged man of the match for his 75 runs and 5 wickets.
