Passenger bus service associations demand suspension of Transport officials

Passenger bus service associations in the State have demanded the suspension of two officials of the State Transport Department who have seized some passenger buses on the alleged charge of not having valid documents.
Denouncing the act of a Joint Director and Inspector of the State Transport Department who have seized some passenger buses amid the efforts put in by the passenger bus owners to ease the process of procuring relevant documents, the associations have cautioned to stop passenger bus services if their demands are not fulfilled.
Addressing media persons during a press meet held in connection with the matter near Keishampat Churachandpur parking today, the general secretary of United Bus Owners Welfare Association Manipur has announced that passenger bus services will be stopped starting from the morning of August 5 if the concerned officials are not suspended by August 4.He also expressed that passenger bus service owners in the State face inconveniences while trying to get necessary documents from the Department which is unfortunate.
He appealed to the authorities concerned to ease the process in the interest of the transporters.
