Rotary Club of Imphal launches Egg Bank

Rotary Club of Imphalon Tuesday launched Rotary Egg Bank with the objective of providing balanced diet to children of three children's homes.
According to a statement released by Rotary Club of Imphal president Pramod Jaiswal, the Rotary Egg Bank has been opened at Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Sanapat, Imphal East; Child Care Institute, Kabo Leikai Dewlahland, Imphal West district; and Punya Home Thangmeiband, Imphal West district.
The project is being taken up as part of the Club's community service and will be providing the 80 inmates of the 3 homes with 4 eggs per head every week for free, totalling up to 1680 eggs per month with the aim of keeping the children healthy.
The Bank will be run with money donated by members.
An egg contains iron, protein and other nutrition and is a requirement in the diet of every growing kid, the statement said, while appealing to the young inmates of the homes to follow Covid-19 SOP strictly.
