Kangpokpi deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla on Tuesday said that the district administration is gearing up for 'Har Ghar Thanga' (HGT) campaign which will be celebrated as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' with distribution of national flags to SDOs, CEO/ADC, ZEO, DPO concerned and heads of departments in the district.
She informed that for HGT Campaign, national flags will be distributed in the district on Wednesday for hoisting at various institutions.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke a sense of ownership among the people and celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of community participation, she said.
The DC also directed all sub-divisional officers to collect the national flags by 10 am; CEO/ADC, ZEO and DPO to possess the same by 1 pm and SP, DFO, CMO and other departments by 2 pm from her office.
Zuringla said 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign has been launched to encourage citizens of India to hoist national flag at their homes as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' which is being celebrated to commemorate the 75 glorious years of a progressive Independent India.
She also called for participation of each and every citizen in hoisting the tricolour during Independence Week from August 11-17 .
Moreover, all sub-divisional and district level officers of Kangpokpi district have also been directed to hoist the flag in their respective offices/institutions and hand it out to every household under their jurisdiction for the hoisting during Independence Week.
On the other-hand, officials of Social Welfare Department of Saikul Integrated Child Development (ICDS) Project on Tuesday distributed food items to Aganwadi Centres for providing hot cooked meal in Saikul sub-division, Kangpokpi district.
Altogether, 249 Anganwadi centres collected hot cooked meal items which will be further distributed to the beneficiaries in the form of 'take home ration' .
As classes for the beneficiaries ape on halt in view of COVID situation, allotted rations will be distributed to the respective beneficiaries through home visits by Anganwadi Workers.
The food items such as gram, pulses, salt, mustard oil, turmeric powder, groundnut among others were distributed under Supplementary Nutrition Programme, ICDS of Social Welfare Department to the eligible beneficiaries, children under 6 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers as per the guidelines laid down by ministry of Women & Child Development.
District Programme officer Roselin Doungel, Child Development project officer of Saikul ICDS Project Mutum Leimatombi Devi, supervisors and staff were present during the distribution of food items.
