Dimapur, July 09 2026: The NSCN (IM) has asserted that the 'silence' of the Government of India to the conflict situation in Manipur, especially the abduction and later cold blooded murder of the six Naga men is as 'frightening as the brutality of the crime' .

Sharing its thoughts in its mouthpiece, 'Nagalim Voice', the NSCN (IM) said that Delhi's silence and delayed response have reaffirmed the logical perception that the suffering of the "indigenous peoples" in Manipur does not command the urgency or value it deserves from the Government.

This should serve as a stark warning that the Government of India will continue to fail in its foremost responsibility of protecting the peoples of the North East region unless it fundamentally rethinks and reforms its policies and outlook toward the indigenous Nations of the region, said the outfit and added that a Government that ignores long standing grievances, overlooks the security concerns of indigenous communities, and responds to complex political realities with inadequate or misguided measures cannot expect to guarantee peace or protect innocent lives.

The bloodshed is not merely the consequence of local conflict but is a warning of the consequences of persistent policy failures.

Without justice, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the rights and dignity of the region's indigenous peoples, the promise of security will remain an illusion, the NSCN (IM) bulletin added.

Referring to the killing of the six Naga men, the outift said, "The barbaric killing of six innocent Nagas stands as one of the most horrifying and morally repulsive atrocities witnessed in recent times" .

They were not armed combatants killed in battle.

"They were innocent civilians abducted, tortured, humiliated, and murdered in cold blood by Kuki terrorists", the NSCN (IM) further said.

The sheer brutality of the crime exposes a terrifying level of hatred and dehumanization that has infected the terrorist groups, it said and added, "This crime must be condemned with absolute clarity and without political hesitation.

No political cause, ethnic grievance, or territorial claim can ever justify such monstrous cruelty against defenseless civilians" .

The 'Nagalim Voice' said, "What makes the incident even more painful is the stark contrast between the humanitarian restraint historically shown by the Naga communities and the horrifying savagery displayed in this atrocity".

Nagas have consistently emphasized dignity, survival, coexistence, and political dialogue despite enduring violence and political oppression, it said and added "Yet these six innocent Nagas were denied even the most basic human mercy".

The reported treatment of the six victims; mutilated, beheaded and butchered without any intact joints reflects not resistance, but the complete moral collapse of those capable of committing or defending such acts, it added.

Equally disgraceful is the shameful inaction of the Government of India.

"For months, the Indian State has watched Manipur descend deeper into bloodshed, ethnic division, displacement, and lawlessness while repeatedly hiding behind empty statements about restoring normalcy," the NSCN (IM) bulletin alleged, while asking, "What kind of democracy allows armed terrorist groups to abduct and murder civilians while the State machinery appears powerless, indifferent, or paralyzed?" .

The The outfit said the deaths of these "six innocent Nagas" must become a turning point, not another forgotten headline buried in the endless cycle of violence consuming India or swept aside beneath political convenience.

It added that justice must be immediate, transparent, and uncompromising.

The bulletin also said the perpetrators and all those who enabled or protected them must be held fully accountable.
