Awareness on Kidney Day held

Imphal, March 12 2022:
Department of Nephrology, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal on Saturday organised an awareness programme on the importance of kidneys to overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and associated health problems worldwide.
The awareness programme was held as part of World Kidney Day, said a release by RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh.
World Kidney Day advocates for concrete measure in every country to promote and advance kidney dis ease prevention, including renewed focus on primary care, awareness raising and education including patient empowerment and cross-speciality training.
The campaign was launched by RIMS Nephrology department head Prof T Brojen Singh.
During the campaign Brojen and volunteers gave detailed analysis on kidney problem, how to prevent it and mode of treatment in and around Khwairamband Ima Keithel.
A free plantation programme was also organised at RIMS campus as part of the observance.
