NCC pays homage to Maj Ng Joydutta

National Cadet Corps (NCC) GP HQ Imphal and its units on Saturday paid homage to Major Ngangom Joydutta Singh, Vir Chakra (Posthumous), who laid down his life in the line of duty while being deployed in Sri Lanka as a part of Indian Peacekeeping Force (IPKF) in 1987 .
To honour the bravery of Maj Joydutta, his wife was felicitated and presented with a plaque of honour by (Retd) lieutenant general L Nishikanta Singh on behalf of the nation, said a release by Defence PRO.
The release said that NCC, as a part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', will be paying homage and remembering brave hearts of the nation who laid down their lives safeguarding the nation by organising 'Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman' programme.
NCC Imphal and its units will be honouring next of kin of the brave-hearts of Manipur, over the next three months, added the release.
