Store owner injured in Ccpur blast

Churachandpur, March 12 2022:
A bomb blast in front of grocery store located at Salem Veng in Churachandpur district headquarters on Saturday around 7.10 pm left the store owner identified as Deepak Shah (28), originally from Samastipur, Bihar seriously injured.
According to reports, the bomb concealed in gift wrapping was planted inside a dustbin at the front of the store.
The explosion took place as the owner tried to put out smoke billowing from the dustbin by pouring water.
He suffered injuries on the forehead, hands, legs and chest from bomb splinters.
He was rushed to Churachandpur district hospital from where he was referred to Raj Medicity, Imphal.
Police are still unable to ascertain the type of bomb which caused the explosion.
The building in front of blast site is owned by one James Khuma Hazel, an independent candidate from Churachandpur AC in the just concluded12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections.
