Workshop on faculty development programme begins

A three-day workshop on Faculty Development Programme for University and College Teachers began from Saturday at the multipurpose hall of Lilong Haoreibi College.
The workshop on the theme 'Role of teachers in integrating skill development in higher education through NEP 2020', held as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration is being jointly organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the College and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Tamil Nadu and it will have 14 sessions.
The opening session of the workshop was attended by director (university and higher education) Dr Rangitabali Waikhom as special guest and director DDU Centre for Kaushal, Dibrugarh University Dr Kiran as chief guest while professor Hyunkyung Lee of Korean Language, Department of Foreign Language, Manipur University and director of Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Manipur University professor Ch Ibohal Meitei were present as guests of honour.
Lilong Haoreibi College principal Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh also attended the opening session.
Regarding the workshop, Dr Raheijuddin said that teachers from different colleges and universities will be acquainted with the role of vocational education in higher education which is the main component of NEP 2020 and also with the syllabus curriculum.
