National conference on International Pi Day commences

A 3 day National conference on International Pi Day was inaugurated today on online platform through Google Meet.
The National Conference is organised by the Department of Mathematics, Manipur University.
The inaugural function was graced by Professor N Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University (MU), Professor (retired) SC Arora, Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi, Professor (retired) Ng Ibohal Singh, Department of Mathematics MU, Professor K Yugindro Singh, Dean, School of Mathematical and Physical Science, MU, Professor W Chandbabu Singh, Registrar MU and Professor O Ratnabala Devi, Head of Department of Mathematics MU as the presidium members.
VC Professor N Lokendra emphasized on the importance of 'Pi' and said that it has always been a loyal partner of human civilization and is used in various scientific calculations and architectural measurements while speaking on the occasion.
He further stated that organizing such conferences will motivate the young students for rigorous study and further research in various fields of Mathematics.
He went on to inform that all Department and Ministries will host a set of activities for a resurgent Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat to commemorate the monumental occasion of 75 years of India's independence.
During the 3 day National conference, distinguished professors from different colleges and universities will be the resource persons and will interact with the participants.
