Imphal, March 12 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president cum media in-charge Ch Chidananda has clarified that there is no crisis of leadership within the party whatsoever.
This response came after some 'unverified reports' on digital and social media platforms claim that the 32 BJP MLAs are divided into 2/3 groups to choose the next Chief Minister and leaders of the party's legislature wing.
In a video message, Ch Chidananda continued that the claims about the party members, specially the 32 winners of the just declared Assembly polls, camping and collecting signatures are baseless.
Continuing that the report even went to the extent of naming caretaker Chief Minister N Biren Singh, former Minister Th Biswajit, former Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Y Khemchand and MLA elect from Bishnupur AC Govindas Konthoujam as the leaders of the alleged camps, Chidananda asserted that circulating such unfounded news to mislead the people is very unfortunate.
He then urged the people of Manipur to give no credence to such rumours.
Stating that the BJP respects the mandate of the people and is thankful for giving them absolute majority, Chidananda maintained that the BJP State unit president A Sharda has already commented on choosing the next Chief Minister and leader of BJP legislature wing, and added that the same will be announced before March 19 .
