NCC pays homage to bravehearts

Imphal, March 12 2022:
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Cadet Corps, the largest uniformed youth organization of the country is paying homage and remembering the bravehearts who laid down their lives safeguarding the nation by organising a 'Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman' programme.
NCC GP HQ Imphal and its units will be honouring next of kin of the bravehearts of Manipur, over the next three months, said a statement of PIB Defence Wing.
On March 12, the NCC honoured the family of a brave son from Manipur, Major Ngangom Joy Dutta Singh, VrC (Posthumous) .

Major Singh was deployed in Sri Lanka as a part of Indian Peacekeeping Force (IPKF) in 1987, and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
For his unmatched bravery and courage he was awarded the Vir Chakra.
To honour the bravery of Major Ngangom Joy Dutta Singh, his wife was felicitated and presented with a plaque of honour by LT Gen L Nishikanta Singh, VSM & BAR, (Retired), on behalf of the Nation.
