CCpur cops nab two with drugs

CCpur, October 08 2022:
Churachandpur district police on Saturday arrested one Jangkhokam Touthang (32) son of (L) Doukholun Touthang of SL Molcham village, Churachandpur but presently a resident of Sangaikot UPC Veng along with 7.6 kg of opium.
According to police, SI Letminlal Suantak on Sunday morning reported to the of Ccpur police station officer in-charge that some persons would be transporting opium in a maroon colour Bolero (MN04A1583) along Rengkai road.
Accordingly, a combined team of the police station and Sangaikot police maintained vigil along the route.
Around 6:30 am, the target vehicle was chased and intercepted which on thorough checking was found carrying nine Everyday milk packets containing opium weighing 7626 grams.
The drug was concealed under the floor mat of the co-driver's seat.
A case has been registered for further investigation, it added.
Meanwhile, Churachandpur police station arrested a man with 29 grams of brown sugar on Friday.
The arrested man has been identified as Suanminlal Khongsai (26) son of Nangkhanthang Khongsai of Ngoiphai village, Churachandpur but residing at Mission Veng, Hiangtam Lamka.
According to police, Churachandpur police conducted frisking and checking in front of the police station and checked one numberless Yamaha Cygnus Ray (Blue) driven by two people.
During the checking, two soap cases containing 29 grams of brown sugar were seized from the pillion rider.
The pillion rider confessed that the driver had only given him a lift out of generosity and as such the driver was let off on execution of PR bond.
