National Wildlife Week observed

The department of Forestry and Environmental Science, Manipur University observed the National Wildlife Week during from October 2 till 8, 2022 on the theme of 'Restoration of key species' .
During the National Wildlife Week, wildlife photography contest, photography exhibition, National webinar/workshop on snake-bite management and students outreach programme were conducted, said a press release by the Department.
Professor HT Lalremsanga, from Department of Zoology, School of Life Sciences, Mizoram University delivered a lecture via video conferencing on the topic "Venomous snakes of NE India: Snakebites Management" .
He focused on the importance of the knowledge of the snakebites with instructions to manage it.
He shared updated information regarding the different venomous and nonvenomous snakes of NE India.
The celebration was followed by the "Student Interaction Program" with Moirangthem Loiyangamba, a wildlife and environmental activist and founder of Wildlife and Habitat Protection Society.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of the guests and distribution of the prizes to the winners of the photography contest.
