SHITDU all set to be functional in Kangpokpi

The newly formed Sadar Hills Inland Transporters and Drivers' Union (SHITDU) is all set to be functional in Kangpokpi district after the inaugural and dedication of the union office at Kangpokpi district headquarters on Thursday.
Registered (No 1038 of 2022) under All India Trade Union Congress, New Delhi, the SHITDU is affiliated to All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Worker's Union (AMRTD&MWU) .
The programme was attended by AMRTD&MWU advisor L Samu, Kangpokpi police station OC inspector Henminthang Kipgen and SHITDU president Semson Kipgen as presidium members, while reverend MS Singh was present as the dedicating minister.
Representatives of various civil society organisations, a team of Inpi Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Moreh led by its general secretary Kaikholal Haokip and AMRTD&MWU office secretary S Shane and other officials also attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, AMRTD&MWU advisor L Samu lauded the members of SHITDU for their tireless efforts in establishing such an important union for the welfare of the transporters and drivers of the state while congratulating on behalf of the AMRTD&MWU for the successful inauguration and dedication of SHITDU office.
Motivating the newly formed SHITDU, he urged the union to be a refuge and shelter for the transporters and drivers of the state, who are toiling hard day and night along the highways, within their jurisdiction.
The AMRTD&MWU advisor also advised SHITDU leaders on various matters related to the welfare of the union in particular and the transporters and drivers of the state as a whole.
L Samu also handed over the affiliation certificate of SHITDU to its general secretary Thangminlen Kipgen on the occasion.
