JNIMS increases MBBS seats to 150 from 100

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission has given its approval on increasing the number of MBBS seats at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) to 150 from 100 .
According to the letter of permission sent by MARB to the Dean/Principal of JNIMS, the request to increase the MBBS seats at JNIMS from 100 to 150 has been approved, to be put into effect with the new admissions.
With the increase in the seat intake, the Institute is responsible for ensuring all required infrastructure (physical and human resource), teaching faculty and clinical materials for the academic year, in accordance with the rules of NMC.
JNIMS will be held responsible if any discrepancy is found in the assessment conducted by NMC and in the processes required for MARB s approval.
The degree will not be given any recognition and the letter of permission will be withdrawn in such a case.
The MBBS seat contribution by a government medical college is 15 percent and around 50 percent all India quota is to be reserved for post graduate broad special ity (MD or MS).
The details of the courses opened in the college, including details of the faculty and their experiences, and the university it is affiliated to should be displayed on the website of the college, the letter of permission also made it clear.
