IPSA continues 'Khongul Liba' campaign

In search of the forgotten ancestors, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) along with Haonasung Apokpa Marup continued its campaign 'Kanglei Puwarigi Khongul Liba' and organised a discussion programme at Laishram Khul Jaribon on Wednesday.
A release issued by IPSA informed that the programme was attended by Naoriya Phulo Laininghal's son and Apokpa Marup 'luchingpurel' Naoriya Amusana, IPSA working president Maibam Bisheswor, treasurer Sanarei Meetei and advisor Chingkhei Luwangcha as presidium members, while Angam Sahitya Parishad Jaribon president Koijam Sobon Das, retired senior engineer Chongtham Babaton and social worker Keisham Kasdeba spoke during the meeting.
The speakers informed that there were 33 Meitei villages in Jaribon with a population of 25,000 people, but the number has reduced to only 27 villages with a population of 20,000 people.
Later, tributes were paid to the statue of Bir Tikendrajit installed at Lala Keithel as a mark of respect, it added.
