AMUCO organises medical camp at Tuisenphai

A free medical camp was held at Tuisenphai village under Lamlai assembly constituency in Kangpokpi district on Thursday as part of the series of free medical camp being organised by All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) in association with different clubs and organisations in relation with the Lamyanba Hijam Irabot memorial month.
Imphal East District United Club's Organisation (IEDUCO), North Eastern United Clubs' Organisation (NEU-CO) and Tuisenphai Youth Development Rising Club (TYDRC) jointly organised the camp under the aegis of AMUCO.
Eligible residents of the village were also administered Covid vaccine at the camp, during which over 200 residents were provided free consultation and health checkup.
AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, advisor Ningthoujam Shyamsunder, vice-president MM Thambou, assistant secretary finance T Momocha, IEDUCO president Takhellambam Dwijo, assistant general secretary Ch Okendro and assistant finance secretary Maibam Premjit attended the programme during which floral tributes were paid to the photo of Hijam Irabot.
A medical team under the aegis of CMO Imphal East, which included ophthalmology specialist Dr Brainee, general medicine Dr Tonta Sangma (MO of PHC Lamlai) conducted the medical camp while PHSC Nongren team led by district coordinator Imphal East Dr Sanjiv carried out the Covid vaccination programme.
So far, IEDUCO in association with different local clubs and under the aegis of AMUCO had organised free medical camps at two locations during the current week.
Speaking on the occasion, Nando called for promoting healthy lifestyle among the youth and for the society to contribute in protecting the youth from drugs and substance abuse.
He also stressed the need for improving healthcare infrastructure and road conditions in interior parts of the state and urged local clubs to play major role in curbing drugs and substance abuse among the youth.
