MPCC team New Delhi-bound for protest rally

A 92-member delegation of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) which will take part in the nationwide 'Mehangai Par Hala Bol' rally against price hike on September 4 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi was flagged off by president K Meghachandra from Congress Bhawan here on Thursday.
After flagging off the rally, Meghachandra told media persons that the recent split of JDU from NDA in Bihar indicates failure of BJP's double engine government and the impact of crash of NDA in Bihar will also be felt in Manipur.
Just as JDU split from NDA in Bihar, JDU MLAs in Manipur are almost on the verge of withdrawing support to the BJP led coalition government in Manipur, he said.
According to K Meghachandra, people of India love Congress party since the time of independence struggle and there were no corruption or scam charges against the party since the time of Nehru till Rahul Gandhi.
He also said that the party has no dictating politics though other political parties alleged of following dynastic politics.
The MPCC president further informed that Congress party is ready to fight municipal and local body elections and expects to get support from the people though defeated in general election due to change of party at the Centre.
Regarding the MPCC delegation sent to Delhi, K Meghachandra said that prices of essential commodities including petroleum products, LPG, milk and educational items have skyrocketed since NDA came to power and the rally is being organised to raise a common voice against price hike.
He also said that the BJP led coalition government at the Centre is unable to translate into action none of the promises made before the election.
