Imphal, September 01 2022:
Volunteers of AMSU, DESAM, KSA, SUK, MSF, AIMS and various women organizations locked Salud Restaurant at New Checkon yesterday for not complying with the ban which was imposed by the six organizations on June 22 and August 20 this year.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, KSA president S Bidyananda said that Salud Restaurant was initially banned for six months by the six organizations on June 22 this year for 'allowing under-aged people to party in the restaurant under the influence of alcohol' .
He further stated that the six student organizations again imposed a one year ban on the same restaurant on August 20 this year for not complying with the initial ban.
While decrying that many under-aged people in the State, including females are addicted to drugs and alcohol as many hotels and restaurants allow and encourage children to take part in party under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicants, the KSA president conveyed that the step to lock Salud Restaurant was taken up by the six organizations and many women organizations yesterday as the said restaurant continue to open despite the repeated bans.
