IPSA organises "Kanglei Puwari Khongun Liba"

International Peace and Social Development (IPSA) in association with Haonasung Apokpa Marup organised "Kanglei Puwari Khongun Liba" programme on Wednesday at Laishram Khul, Jaribon in Assam as part of its efforts to trace the history of Manipur.
The programme was graced by Naoriya Amusana, son of Naoriya Phulo and leader of Apokpa Marup; Maibam Bisheswor, working president IPSA; Laishram Amutombi, treasurer, Sanarei Meetei Higher Secondary School and Chingkhei Luwangcha, advisor IPSA as the presidium members, a statement has informed.
Meanwhile, Koijam Sobon Das, president Agam Sahitya Parishad Jaribon; Chongtham Babaton, retd Senior Engineer and Keisham Kasdeba, social worker delivered insightful speeches on the occasion.
During the programme, the speakers shared that the number of Meetei/Meitei villages in Jaribon has gone down from 33 villages to 27 villages, while the number of residents have dwindled from 25,000 to only 20,000 at present.
Highlighting the decreasing population of Meeteis/Meiteis in Jaribon, the speakers emphasized the need to take appropriate measures to halt this declining statistic.
