Dengue positive cases reach 140 in Moreh

Dengue positive cases in the border town of Moreh in Tengnoupal district has reached 140 with detection of 11 fresh cases in the past two days while a total of 13 Dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at Sub-Divisional Hospital, Moreh.
Six fresh cases were detected on August 31 out of 12 samples tested at KRSNAA-LAB of Sub-Divisional Hospital, Moreh while five fresh cases were detected out of 16 blood samples collected on Wednesday.
Two of the five fresh positive cases are from Moreh Ward No 7 Heinou Makhong Leikai, one from Cannan Veng and two from Muslim Nagar.
With these fresh cases, the total number of Dengue positive cases in the border town has reached 140 since the outbreak of the disease in the later part of June this year.
This is despite continuing fogging and surveillance by special malaria unit of Sub-Divisional Hospital, Moreh under the aegis of state Malaria department.
