NS Films celebrates 50 years of existence

Imphal, January 21 2023:
NS Films, a film production banner set up by the pioneering filmmaker Gurumayum Narayan Sharma, celebrated its 50th an niversary at MSFDS auditorium, Palace Compound, here, on Saturday.
The celebration jointly organised by Manipur State Film Development Society and Film Forum Manipur was marked by offering of floral tributes led by film director Aribam Syam Sharma and All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, to the photo of Narayan Sharma who made enormous contribution to Manipuri cinema.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Shamjai acknowledged the invaluable contributions to Manipuri cinema by late Nara-nyan Sharma and others.
He also appealed to the present generation to protect and preserve the valuable gifts of the great him makers.
While expressing grief over gradual disappearance of movie theatres in the state especially in this age of advanced information technology, Shamjai urged all concerned to strive for producing quality and thought-provoking films following the footsteps of our forefathers.
Presided over by CATA president RK Janaranjan, the function was also attended by G Narayan Sharma's grandson G Ravi Sharma, Film Forum Manipur president L Surjakanta and other him personalities.
