Imphal, January 21 2023:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has appealed to the State Government to keep a strict vigil over the mushrooming of boarding and hostel facilities in the State violating the laid guidelines.
MSF in a press release expressed serious concern over the rising number of private coaching centres, boarding and hostel facilities in the State in connection with the upcoming Class 10 and 12 Board examinations.
The study body maintained that such private centres do not have proper infrastructure and facilities which is in violation of the guidelines laid down by the competent authorities.
These centres are opened with the mere purpose of running business and to lure students for extra marks, MSF alleged.
In view of the above the student body urged the State Government to look into these private centres and take up stringent actions against the violators.
MSF also stated that it will keep a vigil over such private boarding centres and hostels.
Further the student body also questioned the effective implementation of norms laid by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in the State.
It is worth mentioning that Manipuri Students' Federation has been taking various measures for the well-being of the student community in the State including the conduct of free special classes for the poor and needy sections of the society.
