AKSDO, SSU overpower opponents in Plate Tournament

AKSDO (Khangabok) and SSU (Singjamei) churned out comprehensive wins in Saturday's league matches of the MNCA Plate Tournament.
AKSDO thumped KIYC (Kshetrigao) by 112 runs to overtake NAPSA atop the Group A point table.
It wasn't a smooth innings for AKSDO though.
They posted 173 (all out) in 37.1 overs but the bowling unit stepped up to make sure of their victory, that too in dominant fashion.
Chinglensana Moirangthem (55), Akash Laishram (29), Laishram Samson (14) and Sanayai Ningthoujam (14) were the key batters in the Khangabok side's innings.
AKSDO then took 17.1 overs to skittle out KIYC for a mere 61 for their emphatic success at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.
Laishram Nirash's lethal four-over spell tore apart KIYC's batting lineup as he picked up four wickets.
Sanayai Ningthoujam also shone with the ball for AKSDO, claiming three scalps in his 3.1 overs, with Akash Laishram taking two and Laishram Rohit bagging one.
Md Kaosar (11) and Md Ramijur (10) were the batters who score in double digits for KIYC.
Earlier, Aneesh Ahmed and Mohd Abdul Hamid shared seven wickets between them that went in vain.
Laishram Nirash's four-wicket haul earned him the man of the match title.
An all-round SSU, meanwhile, inflicted a crushing 242-run defeat on MPA (Kakching) in their Group B encounter at Oriental College.
With the result, SSU moved up to second in the standings behind NCA.
Put in to bat, SSU had little trouble facing MPA's bowlers, with Dingku G (63), Md Akip Hussian (49), Rupachandra (41), Thangjam Somorjit (37), Saikhomba Thongam (29) and Sougrak pam Douglas (18) churning out 237 runs combined to help their side pile up 307 (all out) in 37.4 overs.
SSU then bundled out MPA for 65 in 34.2 oversA Saikhomba Thongam and Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma were the star performers for the Singjamei squad as the duo racked up four wickets each while Sougrakpam Douglas claimed two to steer their team to a massive win.
Saikhomba Thongam was adjudged the man of the match for his four wickets and 29 runs.
