Youth conference of TRCCP commences

Under the theme "Nurturing the root for a stable today and a brighter tomorrow", a two-day youth conference of Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak Chabuan Phuam (TRCCP) Manipur commenced from Saturday at Sangaiprou Kabui village, here.
TRCCP is the youth organisation of Kabui community who follows Tingkao Ragwang Chakpriak (TRC) faith.
Speaking as chief guest at the conference's inauguration, CAF&PD and PHE minister L Susindro urged the people of the state to follow and keep alive the basic principles of life and religion handed over by our forefathers and expressed belief that practicing the time tested religion/faith will help preserve uniqueness of the society.
While maintaining that safeguarding one'sown identity is important for sustenance in a society, minister Susindro observed that to understand any community, one needs to be well versed with the history of that community.
He also stated that the Kabui has become one of the most advanced communities in the state today.
Minister Susindro also pointed out the need for the present generation to observe the death anniversary of Haipou Jadonang not only by remembering him on the day but by fol lowing the footsteps and teachings of the brave freedom fighter at all times.
He then appealed to the Kabui community to stand as one against the rampant practices of cultivation of poppies and contribute in the "War against drugs" campaign launched by the chief minister of Manipur.
TRCCP education secretary Kambuilu Gangmei, who was also present on the occasion, informed that the conference has been organised for the youth of Kabui Rongmei community settling in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland to instil sense of responsibility in preserving the culture and traditions of Kabui community that have been bequeathed by their ancestors.
Presided over by TRCC Manipur president Lungaithao Pamei, the inaugural function was also attended by Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeshwor, Sangaiprou Kabui village chief Palmei Chingkhusong and TRCP AMN general secretary Chaoba Kamson as guests of honour.
