Condition of Chandranadi canal assessed

As a part of the "Save Chandranadi (Lilahkhong) campaign", Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba along with members of Nature Club, Haoreibi and Haoreibi Apunba Lup carried out an assessment drive of the Chandranadi river today.
During the drive, Leishemba Sanajaoba expressed dismay over the pathetic condition of the river.
He appealed to the communities settled along the river to stop encroaching and also not to dump domestic wastes and garbage into the river.
He also mentioned the necessity of taking up steps immediately to save the historic river, said a press release by the Nature Club president.
On the sideline of the survey, talking to the spectators of the ongoing 4th Chandranadi Trophy Football Tournament at Haoreibi Kangjeibung, he assured to take up the issue of Chandranadi river with authorities concerned in order to preserve the river and its glory.
It may be noted that Nature Club, Haoreibi has been campaigning to save the river.
In an earlier occasion, a memorandum was submitted to Leishemba Sanajaoba.
Today's assessment was carried out as a gesture of his concern over the matter and follow-up of the memorandum.
Nature Club, Haoreibi is moulded with the motto of "A Greener and Cleaner Earth is Possible" keeping the mother earth green, neat and clean and has been fighting sincerely for the cause.
