Cabinet recalls ADC caretakers

The care takers assigned to the State's Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) have been recalled.
With Chief Minister N Biren in the chair, the State Cabinet held a meeting today and the meeting agreed to recall art the caretaker Chairpersons assigned to ADCs as well as urban local bodies.
Briefing media persons after the Cabinet meeting, Health and IPR Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan said that there would not be any caretaker in both ADCs and urban local bodies from today.
The Cabinet meeting also deliberated on holding ADC and Municipality elections in the month of October.
However, Panchayat elections did not figure in the agenda of today's Cabinet meeting.
As agreed at the Cabinet meeting, the number of ADCs would be raised to 10 from the existing six by adding Pherzawl, Tengnoupal, Kamjong and Noney to Chandel, Churachandpur, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul.
The State Cabinet also gave their consent to raise the honorarium of VDF personnel by Rs 500 every year with effect from 2023 .
Moreover, VDF personnel have been authorised to take compensatory leave of 15 days in a year.
The State Cabinet further resolved to reserve 10 per cent seats for VDF personnel in the direct recruitment of police Constable and Rifleman.
The Cabinet meeting discussed about giving the designation Kangpokpi and Ukhrul.

The Cabinet meeting discussed about giving the designation of Corporal to those VDF personnel who have been serving for eight years and Sergeant to those who have been serving or 16 years.
Whether a VDF personnel is fit for designation as Corporal or Surgent would be examined by a committee Dr.Sapam Ranjan said.
He informed that the Cabinet meeting agreed to raise the cash component of gallantry award like distinguished service, Param Vir Charkar etc from the current Rs.22,500 .
