Manipur records 2 more deaths, 89 new cases

Imphal, July 21 2022:
Two deaths, 89 new cases and a daily positivity rate of 8.3 percent is how the Covid pandemic panned out in Manipur in the last 24 hours.
With the addition of two more deaths, the cumulative number of people killed after infection has risen to 2124 .
The two deceased persons were from Thoubal and Kakching.
Quoting the State level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement said that the two deceased persons were suffering from co-morbidities.
One of them had received the first dose of the vaccine while the other had received the second dose.
The 89 new cases were confirmed while testing a total of 1070 samples to peg the daily positivity rate at 8.3 percent which is a dip from the 9.6 TPR logged on July 19-20.The number of active cases is now 627 including two Central security personnel.
The positive status of the new cases was confirmed while testing at RIMS (15), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (71) .
On the other hand 84 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (67), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and SHRI (13) to peg the recovery rate at 98.01 percent.
The total number of recovered cases is 1,35,559 including 5007 Central security personnel.
The 89 new cases, all drawn from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (16), Imphal West (45), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Senapati (2), Kamjong (4), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (7) and Chandel (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 1,38,310 including 5016 Central security personnel.
The vaccination rate continues to below with just 53.67 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose.
On July 20 a total of 11045 Covid vaccines were administered to take the total number of vaccinated people to 30,42,010 including 12,77,003 second dose and 1,59,091 precautionary dose.
A total of 24 D Type oxygen cylinders and 8 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres on July 20.Out of the 39 Covid beds available at JNIMS 19 are occupied while at RIMS out of 62 Covid beds, 39 are occupied.
