IRB aspirants try to storm CM's residence

Imphal, July 21 2022:
In pursuance of the demand that the government declare result of the IRB recruitment rallies conducted in 2019, IRB aspirants under the banner of All Manipur 10th and 11th IRB Viva Voce Completed Candidates tried to storm the private residence of chief minister N Biren located at Luwangshangbam around noon on Thursday.
The protestors held placards inscribed with slogans like 'June Gone Promise Gone', 'Don't simulate the bad habits of previous government', 'Youth are on the verge of age bar', etc.
The aggrieved candidates also shouted slogans in front of the residential gate of CM Biren, demanding declaration of the IRB recruitment result, saving lives of youth and resignation of the CM on the ground that he could not keep his promise.
Later, Imphal East district police came at the spot to disperse the protestors.
This led to a confrontation between the police and the protestors.
Three protestors were picked up by the police but released after brief detention.
