Kangpokpi, July 21 2022:
The Civil Society Organizations of Kangpokpi town have served an ultimatum to the State Health Department to address the shortage of staff nurses and other manpower at District Hospital Kangpokpi within 4 days.
The decision to serve the ultimatum was taken during a joint meeting of Kangpokpi CSOs and local town bodies held at the District Headquarters.
The joint meeting strongly condemned the State Health Department's failure to address the long pending demand of the people to fill-up the shortage of staff nurse and other manpower in the District Hospital.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that only 4 staff nurses have been posted at the District Hospital so far out of the total 14 sanctioned posts.
Out of the 4 staff nurses, 1 has been posted at PHSC Parsain under PHC Kalapahar as CHO (NHM) .
Moreover, not a single LDC out of the 3 sanctioned LDC posts were available and only 1 ambulance driver was posted out of the 2 sanctioned posts.
The hospital has only 1 sweeper out of the 2 sanctioned post, 1 Grade-IV out of 3 posts and no Chowkidar.
Thangtinlen Haokip, general secretary KSO Sadar Hills informed that it was decided in the joint meeting to denounce the lukewarm attitude and spiritless effort of the Health Department and State Government.
He also cautioned that the CSOs of Kangpokpi would be compelled to launch a series of agitation if the Government and Department concerned failed to fulfill their demands before July 25 .
