State logs two deaths, 89 new cases

Imphal, July 21 2022:
The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the state has claimed yet another two lives while government bulletins on Thursday reported 89 new positive cases from 10 districts out of 1070 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 8.32 per cent positivity rate.
The 89 fresh cases (61 male & 28 female) are residents of Imphal West (45), Imphal East (16), Churachandpur (7), Thoubal (7), Kamjong (4), Bishnupur (3), Chandel (3), Senapati (2), Kakching (1) and Ukhrul (1) districts.
The two death cases were residents of Thoubal and Kakching districts, which took the toll from the pandemic in the state to 2124 .
One of the victims had taken first dose of Covid vaccine and the other had administered the second dose.
Thursday also reported 84 recoveries from home isolation (67) Shija Hospital (13), RIMS (2) and JNIMS (2) .
Meanwhile, number of active cases rose to 627, out of which 459 (73.21 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has infected 1,38,310 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 196 vaccinated people, out of which 62 had received second doses of Covid vaccines.
There are 19 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 23 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 1065 positive cases and four deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1040 new positive cases and four death cases.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month dropped to 11.14 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 24 D-type and 8 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 11,045 vaccine doses administered, taking
the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,05,916, out of which 12,77,003 had received the second dose and 1,59,091 jabbed with precautionary doses.

based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49270), Imphal East (30724), Thoubal (10214), Churachandpur (11104), Kangpokpi (3148), Tamenglong (3483), Bishnupur (9884), Senapati (2505), Ukhrul (3305), Kakching (6927), Chandel (2747), Noney (1167), Tengnoupal (1205), Jiribam 1114), Kamjong (1045), and Pherzawl (468) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal
West (705), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (190), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (124), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,573 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,131 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,23,373 tests per million population against the national average of 6,18,830 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate stands at 98.01 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.52 percent.
