Imphal, May 12 2023:
With even security forces suffering injuries in encounters aftermath of the communal violence between two communities, it has become crystal clear that there is total security lapse on the part of the state gov-ernment, said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Manipur while proposing deployment of central para military forces in sensitive areas of the state.
Addressing media persons at its Moirangkhom office here on Friday, AAP Ma-nipur activity coordinator Sagolshem Bangkimchandra said that there is still secu-rity lapses in Torbung area where violence first erupt-ed and maximum casualties reported thereby indicating failure of state's forces to maintain law and order.

While enquiring as to where the central para-mil-itary forces airlifted into the state have been deployed, the AAP Manipur pointed out the need to deploy these forces in most sensitive areas like Torbung.
AAP state coordinator Th Bishwanath, who was also present during the press briefing, said that though the central government has imposed Article 355 of the Indian Constitution in the state of Manipur following eruption of the communal violence, yet there is doubt among the public whether the Article has been actually implemented and as such there is the need for the au-thority concerned to clarify on this matter at the earliest.
He further informed that with armed So0 cadres re-portedly backing a particular community, the partially controlled situation is un-likely to last long.
Therefore, in order to bring back peace and nor-malcy in the state, the state government needs to seize the arms of the So0 cadres failing which violence will continue and there will be no peace in the state, he cautioned.
