Imphal, May 12 2023:
Utonglok Koireng Village Authority (UKVA) has clarified that report published in local papers in regard to apprehension of a KRA cadre Khupngam Koireng, son of Teba Koireng during a search operation conducted by Assam Rifles at the village on Wednesday is misleading.
In a release, UKVA secretary R Rithang Koireng stated that the real name of the alleged cadre is Serto Khupngam Kom, son of Serto Teba Kom and he has no connection with KRA or anything related to present situation in the state.
The 9mm pistol allegedly recov-ered from him is not his, but was wrongly reported by AR.
He is just a simple pig and poultry farmer and is also Utonglok Baptist Church secretary.
He has been suffering from Hepatitis-C, it maintained.
The VA decried that such report is falsely maligning the name of Koireng community and Uton-glok village in particular at a time when tension is running high.
Hence, the report given by AR is not based on truth and the pub-lic must not believe the report, it further appealed.
