Education Minister inspects relief camp at Utlou

Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar personally inspected the relief camp setup at SAI Centre, Utlou under Nambol Assembly Constituency and enquired after the needs of those taking shelter there.
It may be noted that the relief camp was set up by the Peace Committee, Nambol.
During yesterday's inspection visit, the MLA of Nambol AC also interacted with the volunteers of Peace Committee, Nambol and the inmates of the relief camp.
Speaking to the media in his connection, Th Basantakumar shared that the relief camp was opened as part of the resolution taken during the recent 'all jolitical party meeting' to, form a peace committee in each Assembly Constituency and set up relief camps.
The Education Minister also commended the people of Nambol for volunteering at the SAI Centre relief camp and donating generously to meet the needs of the victims of violence.
Stating that there are 152 inmates at the relief camp, including women and children, he assured that they will be provided with shelter and other basic amenities at
SAI Centre until they are resettled at a safe location.
Notably, he added that efforts are underway to arrange regular classes and other fun-filled activities for the children at the camp.
Further, he assured to consult with Power Minister Th Biswajit, who is looking after the relief works taken up at the shelters, to ensure that the relief camps are operated in a more systematic and smooth manner.
