Let's forgive and forget: Minister Biswajit

Expressing deep sor-row over the recent spate of communal violence in the state which has claimed many lives and destroyed properties beyond repair, power min-ister Th Biswajit has urged all to follow the principle of 'forgive and forget' and con-tribute to restoring peace and harmony in the state.
The minister was speaking during inspection visits to re-lief camps opened in different parts of Bishnupur district on Friday.
Thongju Kendra Relief Committee under the spon-sorship of minister Biswajit distributed relief items in-cluding mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, electric fans, po-table water tanks and sanitary items to the relief camps.

During his visit, Biswajit extended moral support to the displaced people who have left their homes fol-lowing the communal vi-olence and assured of all necessary help by the gov-ernment.
He also appealed to the displaced people to gather strength for keeping aside sorrow, grief and ha-tred and try to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
The minister also assured that the state government will take the responsibility of rebuilding all the houses and shops burnt down by miscreants in the violence.
He also visited and met inmates at relief camp opened at Akampat where people displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur are taking shelter.
During the visit, minister Biswajit informed that the communal violence has unfortunately occurred and many people have been displaced and are presently staying at different relief cen-tres opened in Imphal.
Under such a situation, it is commendable that volunteers of Akampat and Singjamei Kshetri Leikai have come out to provide help to the displaced people.
He further informed that doctors are pro-viding service round the clock and providing medicines to the needy and appealed all not to resort to violence anymore but to live in peace and harmony in the state.
The minister also provided relief materials at the relief camps opened at Keibul Lamjao and Moirangkhunou in Bishnupur district and assured the inmates that the government will construct new houses for the families whose houses have been burnt down during the communal riot.
