Relief camp opened at Kakching Hr Sec School

The Committee for Peace and Social Harmony, Kakching has opened a relief camp at Kakching Higher Secondary School to provide a safe haven to people who have been displaced due to the recent communal turmoil in the area.
The camp was opened under the initiative of the committee which was formed after a careful deliberation among the representatives of Kakching and villages adjoining Kakching viz-Khangshim village, Meenou, Laijing, Langol, Koijam, Sora, Irengband, Kuraopokpi, Heikrakpokpi, Pallel, Phunal, Mantak etc, said the convenor of the committee Ksh Chhatradhari.
Around 86 displaced and stranded people are at the camp.
Indian Medical Association, Southern Manipur and Jivan Hospital's proprietor Y Ashokumar, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi and have provided monetary assistance and relief materials to the camp.
However, no help has been received from the district administration Kakching and the local MLA, said a member of the Peace & Social Harmony.
