Man displaced by Moreh riots dies

Imphal, May 12 2023:
One Seleibam Sanjoy-kumar (44) of Moreh Ward No 7, who fled the ethnic violence and had been seeking refuge at a relief camp opened by Assam Rifles, passed away due to an ail-ment at JNIMS hospital on Friday morning.
Following the ethnic clashes on May 3, Sanjoykumar's house at Moreh Ward No.7 was burned down by rioters.
As such, he and his family had taken refuge at the relief camp opened by Assam Rifles near Kondong Lairembi, Moreh.
As his house had been burned down, he had not been taking his daily medications.
On Thursday, he arrived at the relief camp in Khuman Lampak and was subsequently admitted to JNIMS for treatment.
However, he passed away on Friday morning.
Later, his final rites were conducted at the Minuthong crematorium.
