Imphal, May 12 2023:
Apart from calling upon the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) to understand collectively that the ongoing conflict among the indigenes is fallout of India's meticulously planned policy to suppress sovereignty movement, the proscribed Coordination Com-mittee (CorCom) appealed to all the indigenous commu-nities to exercise maximum restraint and work towards restoring normalcy.
The CorCom also appealed to women civil society organ-isations, community lead-ers, youth and students to take the lead role for return of normalcy and prayed for the innocent people who lost their lives in the unfortunate incidents to rest in peace in the heavenly abode as well as for speedy recovery of the injured.
According a statement of CorCom, the conglomer-ate of underground groups operating in Manipur (Kan-gleipak), unfortunate inci-dents happening in Mani-pur (Kangleipak) since May 3 are results of indigenes of the land falling into India's trap.
Had people of the land been aware of India's diabolic agenda in advance, loss of lives and damage of proper-ties could have been averted, the CorCom said adding that government of India must be held accountable for the loss of lives and damages in the inter-community conflict.
The volatile situation could also have been averted if it was not orchestrated by In-dia, the CorCom alleged.
Even though India and Manipur governments are putting enormous efforts and using all their might and forces like civil police, police commando, paramilitary and military to suppress sover-eignty movement, they are remaining silent and watch-ing as if entertainment on life threatening incidents that cropped up due to communi-cation gap among communi-ties, the CorCom said adding that measures being taken up by the government at present after loss of lives and damages is for namesake or to appease the global community.
According to the CorCom statement issued by its pub-licity committee, government of India fully understands that people are strength of a freedom movement and that the best and easiest way to suppress people's movement is spew venom among the communities.
Accordingly, India orchestrat-ed communal conflict while smaller communities who fell into India' trap and unable to understand the importance of unified struggle raised ethno-centric army to defend them-selves.
As a result of this, there are communal enmity and de-mand against the interest of other communities and even leading to distortion of history and inter-community killings.
This is called conversion of principal antagonistic con-tradiction into non-principal antagonistic contradiction in antagonistic theory and as a result identity issue among the indigenes are being formed and contested for grabbing land and economy.
It is not easy to draw peo-ple for a movement but there will be mass participation in identity issue.
Nevertheless, it is not easy in the context of Manipur (Kangleipak) because Naga, Kuki, Meetei-Pangal and Meetei inhabiting the land did not forged Manipur's (Kan-gleipak) identity to safeguard from India's collective identity but instead develop commu-nity based identity thereby leading to a big conflict.
Many communities who were nei-ther Naga nor Kuki have em-braced Naga or Kuki identity in the hills and subsequently formed 'Nagaisation-Kuki-sation'.
Both the Naga and Kuki coined by the British have become their identity while Manipur coined by the mainland Indian people seems left only for the Meetei.
