Bishnupur, May 12 2023:
Expressing regret over the recent communal clash which is highly suspicious to be "instigated by foreign hands", the Moirang Kendra Apunba Loumee Shinmi Amasung Nupi Lup (MKALSANL) prayed for peace and no similar occurrence in the future.
MKALSANL in a press release noted that Moirang- a valley portion by the side of the Thangjing Ching has been a convergent point for many communities including Meetei/Meitei, Pangals and various tribes since time immemorial and the bond of love and brotherhood they shared can never be forgotten.
It will be wrong for people of all ages of the communities to easily sever the ties as Thangjing Ching and reliance on it by the communities living under its fold remained as living examples of long shared cultural and emotional relations, said MKALSANL.
In the meantime, villages under Moirang Assembly segment like Terakhongshangbi, Trong laobi, Ngangkhalawai, Thamnapokpi, Naranseina, Phubala Maning areas adjoining hill are being guarded by a group of local volunteers as the situation remained tense following the sad communal incident.
As such, the State Government and authorities are concerned to ensure security measures in the said places to ease the tension, said MKALSANL.
MKALSANL also expressed its gratitude to the State Government, CSOs and philanthropists for ensuring safety and other relief measures to the people who are taking refuge at more than 14 relief camps opened in Moirang and prayed for well being of all to the Ibudhou Thangjing.
