A new Forum has been formed during a meeting of former Autonomous District Council (ADC) members of six hill districts on Thursday.

This should be halted immediately until the ADC elections are held and the new members elected.
He then appealed to the govern ment not to flout the existing rules and regulations.
Forum advisor and former ADC chairman (Ukhrul) Yaronsho Ngalung said that the Forum was formed after a detailed deliberation on the existing issues.
The Forum has also resolved to put forward its various demands to the government, including holding the ADC polls, which has been delayed for more than 2 years, by early next year; withdrawing the decision to recruit the teaching and non-teaching staff of ADC immediately and only processing for the same after the ADC polls and election of new members; and, permitting the former ADC members to utilise the funds sanctioned under the 15th Finance Commission at the time of the former chairmen and caretaker chairmen as soon as possible.
Informing that a memorandum containing the afore-mentioned 3 demands had already been submitted to the Chief Minister, Yaronsho remarked that there has been no response from the government in this regard till date.
