Regional seminar on sustainable development of NE India through soil nurturing commences

Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal has inaugurated a two-day regional seminar on "Sustainable Development of NE India through Nurturing BHUMI (Soil): An Important Panch Mahabhoot" at its campus of College of Agriculture, Iroisemba today.
This demand driven seminar was inaugurated by Gajendra Singh, Joint Organizing Secretary, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) .
Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU; N Indubhushan Singh, President, BKS, Manipur; Shriniwas Sharma, BKS; Dr Vinay Kr.
Mishra, Director, ICAR, Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya and Poojya Shri Ramanuja Das, Vice President, ISKCON, Imphal graced the inaugural function as the presidium members among others.

Speaking as the chief guest, Gajendra Singh opined that natural farming is beneficial not only for human beings but also for all organisms who form the ecosystem.
He also exhorted the agricultural scientists to work hard for its expansion and try to maintain the production.

Mishra emphasized over soil health for human health.
He expressed that natural farming will be able to cope with the challenges of environmental pollution and imbalances between different components of the ecosystem.
The other dignitaries also deliberated on the importance of natural farming and stressed on the need of taking up this farming practice by the farmers for the well-being of all.
The seminar is being coordinated and executed by the College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal.
