AR provides 15 piglets to Katang Village

Imphal, November 03 2022:
With an aim of providing a local, manageable and familiar means of livelihood in the remote village, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) initiated a project under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme at Katang village of Tamei sub-division in Tamenglong district.
In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that a total of 15 piglets have been provisioned to the village which will provide livelihood to the villagers, who are primarily dependent on farming, fishery and poultry to earn their daily bread as part of the project.
The project was handed over to the villagers by commanding officer of 44 Assam Rifles Dikuiram Post on Thursday as an advance Christmas gift to the villagers.
The chairman and village authorities expressed their gratitude to the unit for providing means of sustenance, while at the same time ensuring peace and stability in the Zeliad region.
Similar projects have been taken over by the unit in various villages of Noney and Tamenglong districts, the PRO added.
