CM chairs meeting for saving Loktak

Chief Minister N Biren on Thursday chaired the first meeting of the Empowered Committee, which was formed to determine the exact boundary of Loktak Lake and Loktak Development Authority (LDA) at the CM Secretariat here on Thursday.
According to a post made by the CM on social media, beside plans to dismantle illegal home stays, removal of 'Athaphums', and ongoing sanitisation activities, other plans are now being charted out to protect the lake's exact boundary.
The government is leaving no stone unturned to save Loktak Lake.
Biren further stated that various works will be taken up in the next 4/5 years to save and develop Loktak Lake.
As such, he appealed to the people not to cause disturbance when the works are taken up and instead extend cooperation.
Meanwhile, in another social media post, CM Biren informed that he chaired a meeting with the chief secretary, additional chief secretary and the team from Karkinos Cancer Hospital on Thursday.
He said that the state government has been giving utmost priority to providing inclusive healthcare for all the people of the state through various health schemes and projects.
Thus, to facilitate easy access to advanced cancer treatment in the state, construction of Karkinos Cancer Hospital is already underway at JNIMS, he conveyed.
