Career counselling programme conducted

Under the aegis of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, CIPET; Centre for Skilling And Technical Support, CSTS Imphal in association with Kekru Yairi Club, Yairipok organised a one-day career counselling programme on job oriented technical courses at Kekru Lai Haraobung community hall on Friday.
The programme was attended by CIPET Imphal training in-charge I Ranjit Singh, Testing and Placement HoD RK Sheila Devi, Tool Room and Processing HoD H Panmei, admission executive Surajkumar, Kekru Yairi Club president Puyam Tiken Singh and Kekru Development Youth Club president Longjam Yaimabi Singh as presidium members.
Locals of Kekru also attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, CIPET Imphal training in-charge I Ranjit Singh informed that the job-oriented career counselling programme, which was launched on October 31 in Churachandpur, will continue in other districts till November 10, with the valedictory programme in Pherzawl district.
The targeted audience of the counselling programme will include students up to 18 years of age who have completed Class IX, X and XII, and will be able to undergo 3-6 months training in preferred field so as to help them become self employed.
During the training programme, the trainees will be provided accommodation, food and other requirements, he conveyed.
Meanwhile, officials of CIPET Imphal spoke about the Institute, the work taken up till date by CIPET, training activities, training facilities and other vocational courses.
The officials also answered the questions raised by the attendees.
Later, many young men and women enrolled for the training programme.
