Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised Vigilance Awareness Gram Sabha in Santing L village in Churachandpur district as part of Vigilance Awareness Week on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Gram Sabha focused on corruption, its effect on development of nation and measures to eradicate corruption from grass root level.
Due emphasis was given on types of vigilance i.e.preventive vigilance, punitive vigilance & surveillance and detection basic.
The aim of the drive was to bring together all the stakeholders to participate in the prevention of corruption and to raise public awareness about the threats posed by corruption.
In this regard the Gram Sabha was adequately organised to percolate down the essence of vigilance, prevailing anomalies and mitigation measures/preventive laws.
Meanwhile, 10 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised a cyber awareness lecture for troops of Assam Rifles on the occasion of Cyber Jagrukata Diwas at Somsai Garrison in Ukhrul district on Thursday.
During the lecture troops were made aware with respect to do's and don'ts on social media, safeguarding mobile and personal computer from cyber attacks.
On the other hand, Churachandpur Sector of Assam Rifles organised debate and essay writing competition on Vigilance Awareness Week in Tuibong in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
Essay writing competition was conducted with the topic patriotism, integrity and honesty - essential components for sense of anti-corruption and debate competition was organised on root cause of corruption - upbringing/grooming or Social/societal pressure, said the PRO
