Legal awareness for juvenile offenders held

A one-day legal awareness programme on the topic 'Rights and Remedies available to a Child in Conflict with Law' was jointly organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Tamenglong, DLSA Ukhrul and DLSA Senapati at Observation Home, Takyel on Thursday.
The programme sponsored by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was attended by District & Sessions Judge, Tamenglong and DLSA Tamenglong chairman N Rajnikanta Singh and advocate Th Rajkishore along with staff of Observation Home Takyel, Juvenile Justice Board, Tamenglong & Noney members, legal cum probation officer Senapati, officials of DLSA Senapati, etc.
Speaking at the event, N Rajnikanta informed that the programme has been organised as a part of 'Haq-humara-bhi-to-hai@25', a campaign for providing basic legal assistance to persons confined in prisons and child care institutions to commemorate the 75th year of India's independence.
All 'Children in Conflict with Law' who are staying in the Observation Home, Takyel have been kept for their reformation and rehabilitation and to become good citizens of the country.
Children staying in Observation Home must follow daily routine to stay fit and healthy and approach the superintendent or person-in-charge as and when they face any problems or difficulties, he stressed.
