Imphal, March 25 2022:
Regarding the indefinite bandh called by Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) over the construction of security barracks in Kezoltsa area along Nagaland-Manipur boundary; chief minister N Biren stated that the issue would be resolved politically but asserted that the government will neither compromise nor surrender with regard to the boundary.
Responding to questions from media persons during a press conference held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat on Friday; Biren informed that the state government had written a letter to the Nagaland Government and a copy of the same had also been sent to the Home Minister.
The state government is just constructing a police outpost within the territorial boundary and the area came under protection of the government, after it was previously inspected by the MLA of Mao and other officials.
Presently, the security outpost is being constructed within 100 metres into Manipur's own boundary.
Thus, the Manipur government will not compromise on the issue of state's boundary under any pressure, he stated and added that the issue will be resolved soon through diplomatic ways.
