Manipur lose to Mumbai in Col Ck Nayudu Trophy

Imphal, March 25 2022:
Manipur suffered an innings and 253-run defeat to Mumbai in their multi-day match of the U-25 Men's Col Ck Nayudu Trophy 2021-22 at CAP Ground 3, Puducherry.
Powered by Musheer Khan's knock of 267, Mumbai had garnered 604/6 in their first innings, backed up by Subed Parkar (162 not out) and Armaan Jaffer (88) .
For Manipur, Alfred Hmar scalped two wickets as Jotin Pheiroijam, Denin, Niitesh and Bikash took one each.
The state side's poor show in their first innings proved costly.
Bikash (44 not out) turned out to be the only performer in the innings that saw Manipur being bowled out for 145 runs in 57.5.overs, losing three wickets to Khizar Dafedar, two each to Atharva Vinod Ankolekar and Himanshu, and one each to Saksham and Sylvester Dsouza.
Mumbai put the final nail in the coffin of Manipur by skittling out the state squad for 206 in 73.1 overs in their second innings to register an innings and 253-run victory.
Khizar Dafedar destroyed the major chunk of Manipur's batting order by finishing with a six-wicket haul, followed by Minad P Majrekar (2), Saksan (1) and Sylvester Dsouza (1) .
