First fulfil our demand: SAYO

Senapati, March 25 2022:
The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has asserted that any decision to call off the indefinite shutdown being imposed along Imphal-Dimapur highway lies with the Government of Manipur.
Addressing a press meet at Kigwema today, one SAYO volunteer stated that the organisation hasn't received any positive response from the Government of Manipur on the demand of withdrawing the police outpost and barrack which were allegedly built at Dzuko valley without their consent.
Asserting that SAYO will not call off the bandh until its demand is entertained, he maintained that the claim of Manipur Government on the disputed site is incorrect as many lapses were detected even in the Google map.
"We don't want direct involvement of the Nagaland Government on this issue which has been going on for more than two decades", he stated and asked all organisations to not comment blindly.
Saying that many organizations have been requesting to call off the indefinite bandh to maintain peace and tranquillity between the two States, he added that the decision to withdraw the bandh, however, lies in the hands of the Manipur Government.
The SAYO volunteer continued that they are ready to lift the bandh anytime if the State Government fulfills its demand.
He further stated that the Nagaland Government has intimated them to call off the bandh as per the communication sent by the Manipur Government.
The bandh, however, exempts media, paramilitary, medical and postal services.
